NPG Jazz: LP Music

  • Paisley Park 7801 Audubon Road Chanhassen, MN, 55317 United States (map)

You are invited to Paisley Park’s next edition of NPG Jazz, L.P. Music with Eric Leeds and Paul Peterson – featuring Stokley Williams ("Mint Condition") and Billy Carrothers. The live music series kicked off in December and features local jazz artists in the NPG Music Club. The February edition featured Midnight Love to a sold out crowd.

Out of the depths of the Minneapolis funk/jazz scene raises a new sound, a new idea. L.P. Music, aka Leeds-Peterson Music features Grammy Award Winning saxophonist Eric Leeds, and multi-instrumentalist St. Paul Peterson. L.P. Music blends the funk and jazz roots of Leeds and Peterson and allows these true musicians a platform to express themselves. Playing with L.P. Music for NPG Jazz will be Billy Carrothers on the keyboard, who played with the original back-up band for The Family behind Eric and Paul in 1985. Stokley Williams, who you may know from “Mint Condition”, will be playing the drums—a special treat for those who might be used to him playing other instruments.

About "NPG Jazz"
Jazz as an original American artform, has undeniably influenced popular music. Prince, like jazz, is known for masterful instrumentation, experimental style, and ability to encompass multiple genres. Jazz is as uniquely authentic as Prince and we are proud to bring them together here at Paisley Park for NPG Jazz.
